My wife thinks I'm somewhat hard to buy for, and even harder to surprise. However, this Christmas, she managed to do both with an all-event pass to the IIHF World Junior Hockey Tournament in Toronto.

We took in several exciting round robin games, but things definitely became more thrilling when Team Canada (who played their round robin games in Montreal) arrived last Friday for their quarter final. The building was loud and energetic as they witnessed their home team decisively beat Denmark, 8-0.

The excitement built as our Canadian boys continued to go undefeated with their 5-1 win over Slovakia, and the Americans were knocked out by the Russians. That set up the championship for gold between Canada and Russia yesterday.

The crowd was rocking and loud, and got louder with each thunderous check or home team goal. I was especially rooting for Max Domi, due to my connection with the London Knights. He had a strong tournament, and rose to the occasion, delivering big-time to hold off a determined Russian team in a nail-biter.

The gold medal drought for Canada ended, as they were victorious over the tenacious Russians, 5-4. Witnessing a piece of history was so surreal, and I'm entirely thrilled to have been part of the experience. Way to go, Canada!

After three months of renovating, it is official!  Myself, Dr Leenders, along with all of our amazing staff have finally relocated to a ground floor location, just minutes away from our office in Byron.  We can now be found at 1065 Valetta St., just off Hyde Park Rd, south of Oxford.

It has been a busy few months getting the new location ready.  Our thanks go out to DUO Building as well as Andrew, Shannon and Brad at Henry Scheinn for making it all come together for us.

Our new Valetta office takes on a fresh, contemporary design.  Ample free parking is available for patients, and no one is missing climbing those cumbersome stairs at the old office.  We are also happy to announce that we are no longer in the depths of a construction zone!

As always, these moves seem to have a few hiccups along the way.  As of now, our phones installed last week are still not functional.  We are, however, having our lines forwarded to the Strathroy office.  Thanks to Kristine and Charlene for taking on the extra calls. We wish to apologize for any inconvenience our moving may have caused any of our patients, and we hope everything will be smooth sailing shortly.

Come by and see us soon, and remember to keep smiling!

We would like to wish a fond farewell to Debra Wright, who will be leaving Dr. Botsford's dental offices after a lengthy nineteen-year term!

Deb has not only been a smiling face around our office for nearly two decades, but has also provided exceptional house-cleaning services on top of her dental assisting duties as well! While she will be greatly missed, we do wish her all the best in her new endeavours!

We would like to extend a very hearty welcome to our newest dental associate, Dr. Emily Vegso!

Dr. Vegso has graduated from Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at Western University. Her academic achievements and professional manner are complemented by her winning personality and positive attitude. We are thrilled to be adding her to our bustling Strathroy office environment!

If you're looking for a great dentist in the Strathroy area, Dr. Vegso is now accepting patients. Contact our Strathroy office at 519-245-0970 to make your appointment today!
